A technician should be armed with tools that allow him/her to facilitate their jobs. I have mostly bought my own tools because sometimes I used them at home as well. I carry them in my backpack just in case they are needed.
Sometimes we need the proper tools to get the job done. We might need screwdrivers for brackets, precision screwdrivers for taking apart laptops, scanners to scan barcodes.
