Using Amazon Web Services to Make this Website

AS TIME GOES ON, MANY BUSINESSES AND ORDINARY PEOPLE ARE DEPENDING MORE ON CLOUD SERVICES.

Cloud-based services have impressed me more recently by all the capabilities they have. I always knew Amazon as a store to buy material things but never as cloud service until a couple a years ago. With AWS being the leader in cloud technologies in front of Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, I decided to learn about it through some courses on Udemy.com.

The HTML files for this website are stored in a S3 (Simple Storage Service) bucket within AWS. There are 2 other services I had to use to make this website work. I used Route 53 to acquire a unique DNS name such as "dashiels.net". I wanted to make it simple to type out and not something long. The other service was CloudFront which makes my website available anywhere using HTTPS. I had Route 53 point to CloudFront and CloudFront point to my S3 bucket. The purpose of this website is to show my capabilies and market myself for future employment and also to keep it as portfolio which can be accessed easily (Thank you internet).

My First Website Design

I spent hours making this website from a template I downloaded online. I have to say I like the way it came out. But now I have replaced it with this one, which was created on a website design software. I felt like I had to make it look cleaner.
